Explore Sicily’s most iconic archaeological treasures; from the Greek temples in Agrigento and Segesta to the Roman mosaics at Piazza Armerina and the theaters of Syracuse.

VALLEY OF THE TEMPLES
Discover one of Sicily’s most iconic archaeological sites: the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Once the heart of ancient Akragas, it was among the wealthiest and most powerful cities of Magna Graecia. Today, this vast UNESCO World Heritage Site features one of the world’s best-preserved Greek temples: the majestic Temple of Concordia, a symbol of classical perfection set against the Sicilian landscape.

SEGESTA
The ancient Temple of Segesta, dating back to the 5th century BC, is a masterpiece of Doric architecture remarkably preserved in its rural setting. Surrounded by nature, the site invites visitors to reflect on its mysterious history. Just above, on Monte Barbaro, lies a dramatic Greek theater carved into the hillside, offering panoramic views stretching from the inland valleys to the Mediterranean Sea.

SELINUNTE
Selinunte is considered the largest archaeological park in Europe. Located on the southwestern coast of Sicily, this ancient city was once a key commercial hub thanks to its strategic position by the sea. Selinunte stands as a rare example of the blend between Phoenician and Greek civilizations, with monumental temples scattered across a stunning natural landscape. The city was destroyed by the Carthaginians in 409 BC, yet its ruins still narrate centuries of splendor and power.

VILLA ROMANA DEL CASALE
Nestled in the countryside of Piazza Armerina, Villa Romana del Casale is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to one of the world’s most extraordinary collections of ancient Roman mosaics. The villa's perfectly preserved decorations depict everyday life, mythology, and sports, offering a vivid insight into the Roman aristocracy of the 4th century. A true treasure for art and history lovers visiting Sicily.

SYRACUSE'S ARCHEILOGICAL PARK
One of the most important archaeological sites in Sicily, the Archaeological Park of Neapolis in Syracuse is home to the magnificent Greek Theater, a masterpiece of classical architecture still used for performances today. Don’t miss the Ear of Dionysius, a limestone cave renowned for its unique acoustics, capable of amplifying sound up to sixteen times. A journey through the splendor of Ancient Greece, surrounded by olive trees and archaeological treasures.

PANTALICA
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pantalica is the largest necropolis in Sicily, with over 5.000 rock-cut tombs dating back to the Bronze Age. Nestled between the Anapo and Calcinara rivers, this spectacular archaeological site is perched on a limestone plateau shaped by deep canyons. The natural setting, combined with its historic value, makes it a must-visit for travelers seeking both nature and history.
